The Danny K. Martin Endowment Scholarship
Southern Carolina Housing, the non-profit organization of the Housing Authority of the City of Lumberton (HACL), established an Endowment Scholarship at Robeson Community College in 2024. The scholarship will provide HACL residents (public housing and housing choice vouchers) access to the resources they need to pursue their educational and career goals. This Endowment Scholarship will help ease the financial burden of tuition and other expenses and provide our resident community an opportunity to attend a great college close to home. HACL is proud to be able to offer this Endowment to our Residents and to recognize Mr. Danny K. Martin for his devoted public service to the community.
Eligibility: Current Resident of HACL's Public Housing or Current Leased Voucher Recipient under the HACL's Housing Choice Voucher Program.
Award: The RCC Foundation Office and the RCC Office of Financial Aide will assess the scholarship dollar award individually.
About Mr. Danny K. Martin
Mr. Danny K. Martin has served on the Housing Authority of the City of Lumberton (HACL) Board of Commissioners since 1997. His leadership, wisdom, and unwavering dedication and commitment to the Agency and the Residents we serve have significantly impacted our organization and will be felt for many generations. HACL is forever grateful for the wisdom and guidance that Commissioner Martin has provided to the Agency and the Board throughout the years. Therefore, the naming of this Endowment Scholarship is an appropriate way to recognize such a distinguished person and to express sincere appreciation by creating the "Danny K. Martin Endowment Scholarship".
